What to check before buying

• Measure the gap at its narrowest point. Skirting boards, pipes and the wide part of a toilet reduce the available width, and the wheels also stick out beyond the body at the base.
• If you have no height limit, the four-tier model fits the same footprint and gives you one extra tier. Choose the three-tier version for a height limit or for a usable top surface.
• The floor needs to be hard. The wheels will not roll on a bath mat or a carpet.
