What to check before buying

• The 36 × 72 cm body fits most spaces, but a skirting board on the wall may stop the unit from sitting flush against it. Leave a few centimetres of margin when you measure.
• Do not put it right next to the hob. An open shelf catches the grease in the air, and although the surface wipes clean you will have to repeat that cleaning often.
• The gaps between the tiers are fixed and cannot be adjusted. If you want more vertical capacity, the four-tier model in the same series adds another tier on a similar footprint. Base your choice on the height of the space, not on the number of tiers.
• Put heavy items on the bottom tier and keep the top surface light. A tall unit that is loaded on top will tip over if it is pushed.
